Panasonic DMP-BDT350 Blu-ray Player Review

Monday, September 6th, 2010

The new DMP-BDT350 Blu-ray Player from Panasonic is a unique player. Not just because it is one of only a few that can playback Full HD 3D Blu-ray Discs, but it has 2 HDMI Outputs. It has other great features like access to VieraCast, Wi-Fi- Ready, a 14 second boot up time and support for DLNA.

The DMP-BDT350, similar to other Panasonic Players, has a slim design. And like other Panasonic Blu-ray Players, they have put an emphasis on lowering power consumption. The player comes with a Power Save Mode where it will shut itself on/off depending on the TV status. Further helping to provide a low power consumption is the UniPhier® single chip LSI. Which can put a whole video signal processing circuit onto one chip. This decreases the amount of parts required and makes for a compact design. Panasonic has even reduced the depth of its players by 18%. By doing this it has resulted in a 15% reduction in the carton’s volume.

Video Quality: The DMP-BDT350 can produce 1080/24p video output. It recreates cinema pictures from the Blu-ray Discs or DVD in their original 24p form, without any requirement for conversion. Proving cinema images in the exactly same format used in the film industry. The TV must be a 1080/24p compatible. It can up-convert content that is 480i/p or 720p to High Definition 1080p. The video connections for the DMP-BDT350 are the two HDMI outputs and Component Video Outputs, all of which are located on the back of the player.

The DMP-BDT350 includes PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. This high quality image processing technology processes each pixel produced by the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the vertical direction. Keeping film colors original, clear and crisp. It reproduces colors with twice the accuracy of normal systems.

Audio Quality: Beside the HDMI Outputs, there are Digital Optical outputs and Analog AV Multi Outputs. It has internal audio decoding for Linear PCM, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS. Along with High Resolution Audio the DMP-BDT350 has 96kHz surround re-master. This is a function which improves the sound quality of CDs and other audio sources. It also helps the quality of the multi-channel sound found on Blu-ray and DVD discs.

The big feature of the DMP-BDT350 is its Full HD 3D playback capability. To watch 3D Blu-ray discs you do need to connect the player up to a 3DTV and use 3D glasses. A pair of glasses is needed for every person. Usually a set of glasses will be included along with the 3DTV. Other pairs will have to be purchased separately. It is recommended that the glasses you purchase be of the same manufacture as the 3DTV. The Panasonic DMP-BDT350, however, can be connected to any manufacturer’s 3DTV.

As stated before, the DMP-BDT350 has dual HDMI Outputs. It has the 1.3 version HDMI(MAIN) as well as the newer version 1.4 HDMI(SUB). The reasoning behind these dual Outputs is to allow the DMP-BDT350 to easily integrate with older/existing AV receivers that do not have the new 1.4 HDMI. The MAIN or 1.4 HDMI will be for 3D video and be attached to your 3DTV. The SUB or 1.3 HDMI will be for HD Audio and be connected to your existing 1.3 receiver. Obviously this setup is designed to make 3D viewing easier and integrate it with your existing equipment. The DMP-BDT plays regular 2D Blu-ray disc and would require the regular video setup with just one HDMI connection.

Online Streaming Media Services are available through Panasoinc’s VieraCast. Here you can access services such as Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Picasa Web Album, Bloomberg and a Weather Channel. The recent additions of Netflix, Pandora, Twitter and Fox Sports to VIERA CAST has greatly increased its worth. It now provides you with top notch movie, music, sports and information sites. You can also take advantage of BD-Live downloadable content on Blu-ray Disc as well as the Bonus view feature. Connection to the internet can be by the Ethernet Port or you can connect a Wireless LAN Adapter to the USB port.

USB Port, along with the SD Card Slot is another way you can enjoy movies or music. Located in the front you can play files like JPEG photos, MP3s, and DivX High Definition videos. Panasonic is stating the DMP-BDT350 has a 14 boot up speed. Allowing you to start enjoying your 3D Blu-ray Player right away.

THE PROS: The Panasonic DMP-BDT350 Blu-ray Player has Full HD 3D capability. It has Viera Cast and BD-Live. 7.1ch audio decoders for Dolby True HD, DTS HD. An SD Card Slot for AVCH HD video, a USB Port and two HDMI Outputs. It is also Wi-Fi ‘Ready’.

THE CONS: Still not sure if it will have any internal memory or if a USB wireless adapter will be included or if you have to purchased separately.

THE FINAL WORD: The Panasonic DMP-BDT350 comes with a wide range of great features, including Full HD 3D technology. It has Online Streaming Media Services like Netflix, Amazon Video on Demand, YouTube, Picasa Web Album, Bloomberg, Weather Channel, Pandora, Twitter and Fox Sports. It is Wi-Fi ‘Ready’ and has two HDMI Outputs (versions 1.3 and 1.4) The DMP-BDT350 is sizing up to be a contender for best the Blu-ray Player coming out in 2010. — Price you should look for when purchasing — No Price Listed Yet

Customer Review:

When playing games like Resident Evil 5 fps, you yellow when you move the soul left and right cameras see. You can clearly when the object moves in the white and black background or vice versa see very quickly. When connecting the computer to move the cursor on a black background behind the facade I see yellow, I bet that all people can see the TV. End of that annoying yellow on the final motion LCD / fog lights.

Plasma TV I just heard that Panasonic VT20/VT25 3D does not light because the red and green phosphor loses 65 percent faster.

If your television this problem I do not have it 5 stars because this game press Gal green eyes. I heard that TV should be at least 100 hours to minimize the delay under the green pixels. I want to review later if you drag the yellow for the next update.

The only thing good I can say about this is that the plasma TV to see very good angles, sound quality, black level performance, prevent glare, brightness and color accuracy.

*** Club thought: in my future with this television 3D OLED (organic light emitting diodes removed) replaces 1080p TV if TV is yellow at the end .***

We have “Panasonic TC P50G25″. And you can Buy Panasonic TC P50G25 In our Stock. Lowest Prices on Panasonic TC P50G25 Shops & Purchase Online – Buy today you Save All!

Horrible Green Phosphor Trailing

When you play FPS games like Resident Evil 5 you can see yellow ghosting when you move the camera left and right. You can see it really clearly when you move a white object against a black background really fast or vise versa. When I connect a PC to it and move a white cursor against a black background I can see yellow trailing of the cursor; I bet you all humans can see it on this TV. This yellow trailing is more annoying than the motion blur trailing on a LCD/LED.

The only plasma TV I heard that does not do this is the 3D Panasonic VT20/VT25 because the red and green phosphors lose light at a 65% faster rate.

If this TV did not have this problem then I would give it 5 stars because these green phosphors lags strain my eyes. I heard that the TV must be run for at least 100 hours to minimize this green sub-pixel lag. I will update my review later if the yellow trailing goes away in the future.

The only good things I can say about this plasma TV is it has excellent viewing angles, sound quality, black level performance, glare prevention, brightness, and color accuracy.

***Final Thoughts: In the future I will replace this TV with a 3D OLED (Organic Light Eliminating Diodes) 1080P TV if the yellow trailing continues on this TV.***
Incredible Picture Quality

This is the second Panasonic Plasma that we bought! In November we bought the P50G10 and we were so happy and satisfied with the picture quality that when we wanted to buy another TV for our master bedroom, we did not hesitate! We got the 2010 model of the exact same TV!

And we have thus far not been disappointed at all! The picture quality is incredible! For natural reproduction of colors and smooth life-like images nothing beats the performance of the best LCDs/LEDs. The 2010 models give you a whole bunch of additional picture adjustment options.

Pros:
- Amazing picture quality
- Much Improved internet connectivity/widgets (more coming in July/August)
- SD card reader can read videos directly from my HD camcorder! No wires to deal with!

Cons:
- Sound from TV speakers is below par (but that’s to be expected of most flat panel TVs)
- This model is still quite thick compared to LG PK750 or some of the Samsung models
- Would have liked one more HDMI connection (this model has 2 in the back and one in the side
Pleased with the Panasonic G25

The G25 has lived up to all expectations. A great television for the money – arrived in great shape and was easy to set up. Still waiting for Panasonic to annouce Netflix streaming…?

3D Enabled Tv Systems Thanks To Dlp Technology

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Back in 2007 Texas Instruments introduced to the industry the very first 3D capable solutions. They had successfully utilized the most recent advances made in 3d shutter glasses along with the speed gained from DMD (digital micro mirror device) technology which enabled an enhanced stereoscopic imaging needed for right / left viewing. The combination of the two then allows users to view high def 3D images on a DLP (digital light projection) television set.

At the root of this is the smooth picture algorithm. 3D technology uses the subframes of smooth picture technology to generate and send an independent image, by means of a signal, to the left and right eye of the viewer. The lcd shutter glasses then process that signal so the correct view is transmitted to the correct eye which gives the viewer a true 3 dimensional depth to the image. So in essence all you need to obtain that cinema quality 3D experience are a 3D enabled DLP TV, a pair of LCD shutter (3d) glasses along with a sync signal transmitter and of course a source of 3d content that uses the DLP 3D video or graphic format.

The main advantage of using this technology is that DLP 3D delivers a higher frame rate of 60Hz to each eye. Unlike other frame sequential systems the resulting  stereographic display is flicker free. Current DLP HDTVs from the likes of Samsung, Mitsubishi and Panasonic benefit because this 3D HDTV technology incures very little costs to implement and gives the purchaser a decent level of future proofing. Unlike older 3D glasses, those pretty naff red and blue numbers we all remember, the new generation suited to use with DLP 3D enabled TV systems have power shutters that deliver unpresidented colour fidelity and exceptional depth of picture.

Tv Can Go Beyond The Scope Of Television?

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

progress. For example, the screen size of 30 to 40 inches, pixels support full HD (1920 Ã? 1080) of television becoming increasingly popular. Large-size TV will enter the Putting aside within the family, more than 100-inch PDP TV and LCD monitor is a fact already on the market (Panasonic 103-inch PDP TV launch, launch 108-inch Sharp LCD). In the thin, the Sony launched the thinnest part is only 9.9mm LCD TV, in addition, Samsung also unveiled the thinnest part of the trial product only 6.5mm. Even thinner the further development of technology, people may not be particularly surprised the. Panel display performance, a contrast ratio of more than 1 million to 1, according to NTSC color gamut of 100% or more than the products that have appeared. It would appear that progress has come to an end flat panel TV up.

However, the flat panel TV’s progress and not an end. As a new generation of television, now is watch the highly anticipated three-dimensional image of the “3D (three dimensional)” Television and the 4000 Ã? 2000 pixels “4K Ã? 2K” TV. 3D TV is currently being put forward, Panasonic and Sony Blu-ray Disc (BD) of the company as the center for development. 3D works in Hollywood movies growing, these companies aim to provide content primarily through BD.

4K Ã? 2K television has also begun the process practical. Most likely in early 2010 into the family. But that will not support the 4K Ã? 2K will begin broadcasting television programs (Japan Broadcasting Association is planning to begin broadcasting in 2025 after the 7640 Ã? 4320 pixels “8K Ã? 4K” television programs). Specifically to generate more than the input signal using the output signal resolution of the “super-Jie Xiang,” Frequency (UpConvert) technology, the HDTV video is converted to 4K Ã? 2K image.

Toshiba, Hitachi, NEC Electronics, and many clinics and TV manufacturers and LSI manufacturers have been in the development of ultra-Jie Xiang technology. Toshiba, which in addition launched in October 2008 to support full HD LCD TV addition, also in January 2009 in Las Vegas, “2009InternationalCES” on display through the ultra-Jie Xiang Full HD video technology will be increased to 4K Ã? 2K, 56-inch LCD TV prototype. The test products through the use of microprocessor “Cell” and four of the company’s LCD TV dedicated LSI, the 1920 Ã? 1080 pixels of the image rose to 3840 Ã? 2160 pixels.

The floor at CES, Toshiba treatment compared with normal frequency and ultra-Jie Xiang processing 4K Ã? 2K images, from the comparison results, the difference between the two is obvious. The company’s goal for the product than most high-end 60-inch models, “the first wish in 2010 in the U.S. market” (Toshiba). Although the technology has to some extent solved the problem, but factors such as economic deterioration in the form of Toshiba’s real thoughts might be: see market conditions before making a decision.

However, 4K Ã? 2K TV and 3D TV is about the scope beyond the traditional television. Therefore we can say that these TV can successfully enter the family is unknown. In fact, many technical staff that “the absence of support for 4K Ã? 2K TV and 3D TV content, it is difficult to achieve universal access.”

Fujifilm 3D Camera Comes of Age in Second Incarnation

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Nevertheless, the new FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera comes with an HDMI interface for instant viewing of 3D pics on virtually any manufacturer’s 3D TV with the assistance of stereographic 3D goggles. The camera will compete with a couple of new Sony models which, like the W3, are due to ship next month.

The thinkers at Fuji believe that the time is finally right for a 3D camera, with the rise of 3D HDTVs from the likes of Samsung, Panasonic, and Sony, and the start of more affordable for 3D TV.

“We are looking to leverage that,” said Go Myazaki, division president for Fujifilm North America’s Imaging and Electronic Divisions, during a press event Tuesday evening at the Museum of Natural History.

With the new FinePix Real 3D W3 digital camera, a successor to Fuji’s earlier W1 camera, the company wants to move 3D photography beyond its initial niche market of hobbyists and gaming enthusiasts into the mass market, said David Troy, Fuji’s director of marketing for consumer digital cameras.

Both 2D and 3D

Users can also snap and display 2D photos and still shots with the W3, using a built-in button to switch between the two modes.

While manufacturers such as Sony also sell pocket-sized 3D cameras, Fuji’s differ from the rest by processing 3D in hardware instead of performing post-processing in software.

Fuji’s cameras have built-in lenses and image sensors for capturing true 3D images.

Along with a new Mini HDMI 1.4 port, the W3 also brings simplified camera operation, first-time support for HDTV, and a larger and brighter 3.5-inch LCD.

Through Fuji’s SeeHere.com Web site, users can now upload their photos for 3D printout on paper. The printouts will then sent back by mail, reporters were told.

How to Take Great 3D Pictures

Yet while pointing and shooting Fuji’s new 3D camera is simple enough, getting good 3D pics requires knowledge of some distinctive photo principles. The reporters, editors, and photographers on hand at the event found this out even before Fuji turned them loose with loaner 3D cameras for the night.

During a demo of the camera, Fuji staff delivered a few tips. First, you should choose a subject with multiple focal points, and you should then hone in on a focal point relatively close to you as an “anchor point.” On the other hand, the anchor point should be at least six feet away from you.

Trying to keep all this in mind, the journalists then shot 3D videos of people and objects in the museum, and of scenes in the park outside the windows. When they were done with that, they plugged their cameras into multivendor 3D TVs, donned the stereographic glasses, and eyed the results of their 3D work.

The W3 will carry an list price of $499.95, much more than what you’d pay for most point-and-shoot 2D digital cameras.

Yet if you’re ready to do more than point-and-shoot, the W3 is packed with features for advanced 2D and 3D photography, said Troy. With TeleWide Simultaneous Shooting, for example, you can zoom in on a subject while simultaneously taking a wide angle shot of the same scene. Another feature, Interval 3D Shooting, is designed for capturing 3D effects in far away subjects.

By switching a built-in parallax control from auto mode into manual mode, you can increase or decrease the 3D effect by fine tuning the sense of depth and the alignment of the images.

How to Use the Camera with a PC

What if you don’t own a 3D TV, and you want to use the 3D camera with a PC instead? If you have a desktop PC, you can buy a Zalman monitor, which will let you ditch the 3D glasses for viewing photos in 3D. Also, 3D-enabled laptops are now becoming available from makers like Toshiba that will let you do the same.

If you don’t mind wearing the 3D glasses as you gaze at your PC, you can purchase NVidia’s 3D Vision, a kit that comes with the glasses plus a 3D graphics card. With the NVidia approach, you’ll also need a PC monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz, Troy noted.

Fuji’s latest 3D camera supports HDTV, but at 720p resolution, as opposed to the higher 1080p. Will Fuji step to the higher resolution?

The answer is that Fuji hasn’t decided yet. The 1080p technology would be costlier, and Fuji isn’t certain that the added resolution would be all that detectable to most users, Troy suggested. “But we’re always looking at new ways to improve our cameras,” he told me.

51 near the Chinese flat panel TV battle corps involved in 3D

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

According to Japanese media reports, as China’s Golden Week is approaching 51 small, 3D TV commercial war imminent. In addition to

Sony Samsung flat-panel giant such as Japan and South Korea took the lead in the global market 3D television war started, the Skyworth,

Konka , TCL, Changhong, flat-panel TV flat-panel TV manufacturers also have participation in World War 3D television. Although, in addition to flat-panel TV manufacturers in China Haier outside the 3D TV impact limited to the domestic market. However, the Golden Week, the World Expo, the World Cup soccer markets such as hot, or so occupied a huge consumer market in China about two-thirds of Skyworth have aroused the concern of global peers. Therefore, just from the flat-panel TV market, this year’s May 1 Golden Week will stage a small corps and overseas Chinese Army World War II between the 3D TV.

Reported, although the Chinese market 55-inch 3D TV about 3 million retail prices, according to comparable prices, and income and consumption levels of conversion was even higher than European and American markets, but from the market since

Sell Point of view, the pursuit of new affluent class, the Chinese mainland, it did not constitute obstacles to purchase. Report also said that last year the National Day Golden Week

LED TV Just listing very similar to the Chinese mainland market, the outlook for consumption is extremely impressive spire.

It is understood that Sony recently released 55-inch, 46 inch three kinds of 3D TV, is expected on sale in June, the price is expected around 21,000 yuan ~ 26,999 yuan. Although Sony has not all betting on this year’s sales growth in the 3D TV, but it still increased the 3D

Blu-ray DVD players and projectors 3D product marketing and product launch camp efforts. As the promoter of the global 3D industrial chain, with the most complete 3D product group Sony, apparently the fastest growing flat-panel TV market, the world’s second largest high expectations, and thus the training of 3D product consumer group is again demonstrating its “Lunatic Fringe , “” Wild “side.

In this March 10 Best Buy (U.S. market), April 23 at the Yamada motor, such as Yodobashi Camera (Japan) IPO 3D TV Panasonic (

Matsushita ), Then in its brand in Beijing Exhibition Center “Panasonic Center” display 3D television. However, the company clear and specific launch date yet, only said: “The book sale during the year.”

Samsung is already selling in the Chinese market 46-inch 3D TV (priced at about 20,999 yuan, Samsung ordinary

LCD TV Price of 15,000 yuan). Among them, the North Electric head office in Shijiazhuang listed on the first day that the sale of a 3D television sets, it is known as the Chinese domestic media: China’s inland market 3D television age advance in step 1. The company also said that 17 years running 3D TV products. Samsung flagship store for the city desk, the 3D TV products will counter the sample group will account for one third. Therefore, the last year to pursue “LED Samsung,” This year is transformed into a “3D Samsung”, but LED display technology and 3D imaging technology, made the “3D for Samsung,” the more powerful.

The other hand, CES2010 in Las Vegas earlier this year on the first to introduce 3D television Haier, played in April this year, “including the first 3DIPTV” of Changhong and TCL the first sale without special 3D glasses, 3D TV, 42 inch prices up to 188,000 yuan, it is reported that sales is very good news, or so the Chinese Army Golden Week 3D TV in a small prelude to war propaganda, the psychological advantage of occupying the corresponding. And many said they purchase is in the Shenzhen Baoan International Airport, security entrance, on-site experience of the TCL without 3D glasses, 3D TV, the spot that generates a strong impulse to buy. Relative to the Chinese Army, the Japanese and Korean counterparts in the “China market” obviously need more doing something with.

Finally, the most exciting news is that China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) Du Baichuan, deputy director of the Technology Committee has made it clear that China will carry out parts of the first 3D television broadcast pilot. 3D TV made in China so as to manufacture and 3D entertainment industry and the expansion of 3D entertainment consumption, both have a “psychological boost”, in turn was a “power source.”

Get Ready For 3D HDTVs In Your Home

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

The latest buzz in both movie theaters and TVs is 3D. Movies such as Avatar which were shown in 3D have created a demand for 3D at home. The recent CES (consumer electronics show) has seen the introduction this year of 3D HDTVs for the home which will be available this spring. This is the next step in HDTVs which have gone from Black and White, to Color, to High Definition, and now 3D. This will be a dramatic step forward. A 3D TV will require two more elements that are not on 2D TVs. Special 3D Glasses, and a transmitter from the TV that controls the shutter speed of the glasses to keep it in synch.

For 2010, Sony will be introducing 3 models capable of 3D. All of these models are LED backlit LCD 1080p HDTVs with 240hz technology. The top of the line XBR-LX900 Series has local dimming LED backlighting and features integrated 3D functionality (glasses and transmitter). The other two models (XBR-HX900 and KDL-HX800) are 3D ready (the Sony active shutter glasses and transmitter are sold separately). These models use edge lit LED backlighting.

Panasonic is going big in 3D this year with the introduction of several 3D Plasma Tvs ranging from 50 inches to 65 inches. The first will be shipping in the spring. The new VT25 3D series will provide full 1080p in both the left and right eye. They will have 5,000,00 to 1 native contrast, and implement a new type of phosphor in the screen that allows the TV to switch quicker to provide a smoother 3D image. This line also has a 100,000 hour panel life. Panasonic is also introducing a full HD 3D camcorder for professional use (with a price tag of about $21,000).

DIRECTV has announced that they will be adding three dedicated HD 3D channels this year to bring 3D TV into the home. DIRECTV and Panasonic are in a strategic relationship, where Panasonic will be the exclusive presenting sponsor. Panasonic will also provide 3d production tools and Full HD camcorders. New 3D programming will be added in 2010 and 2011.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that it will Deliver 3D content on Blu-ray discs this summer. Sony will also be introducing 3d compatible Blu-ray players. From what we have read, the new 3D format will require about 50% more storage than the 2D version of the same movie. The PS3 may have a firmware update to make it 3D compatible. (A 3D capable TV set will be required).

ESPN has announced that it will have one of the first dedicated 3D television networks, by broadcasting the first game of the World Cup between Mexico and South Africa in 3D. They also plan to broadcast 85 live sporting events in the first year.

As the year progresses, we expect to see standards made in 3D for TVs and more manufacturers release 3D models and Blu-ray players. To stay competitive, the cable companies will have to meet the challenge that DIRECTV has thrust upon them with this big leap forward for 3D programming. It should be an exciting year for TVs. Time will tell whether 3D becomes the next big thing, or just a gimmick.
